President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud opened the sixth session of Parliament, discussing his government’s one-person, one-vote election plan.

He said millions of dollars were spent on purchasing digital equipment for the election.
“We did everything in our power to prepare funds and equipment for the election. We are ready to seek international assistance,” he said.
He also addressed concerns over the elections, assuring that the government would not jeopardize the country’s safety and stability.
“There is no reason to put the country at risk. Trust the government and those working on the elections,” he added.
He urged Parliament to complete the remaining chapters of the country’s constitution during this session, highlighting its significance.
“This session should focus on completing the country’s constitution,” said the President.
The remarks come amid ongoing tensions over the elections, with disagreements between the central government, regional states, and opposition members.
