Read Time:25 Second
Somalia has removed itself from the list of countries failing to pay financial contributions to the UN Security Council.
After 25 years, Somalia is delisted and can now vote in the Security Council.
At least 9 countries remain on the UN’s arrears list under Article 19 of the UN Charter.
Each country owes contributions for two years and risks losing voting rights until payments are made.
However, they may retain voting rights if their failure to pay is due to circumstances beyond their control.
