Yemen: Starved refugees in Sana’a to meet with UNHCR
By Ahmed Abdi (Mareeg Media )—Dozens of destitute refugees in Sana’a are scheduled to meet with officials on Sunday as protesting refugees entered the 10th week.
Starving women and children from Somalia and Ethiopia’s Ogaden region are demanding from UNHCR the basis needs: Food, shelter, protection and proper medical treatment.
Many urban refugees in Sana’a feel neglected by the UN Refugee Agency in Yemen.
Refugees elders will sit with the UNHCR staffer to share their main concerns.
They say seven UNHCR local staffers discriminate against the African refugees from the Horn of Africa.
However, This will not be the first meeting between the UNHCR and their clients, but this time refugees are expecting from the UN to respect their demands.
