US envoy to Somalia visits Somaliland

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The United States ambassador to Somalia, Donald Y. Yamamoto has paid a visit to Hargeisa, the capital of self-declared republic of Somaliland.

The Amb. Yamamoto and his delegation were warmly welcomed at the airport in Hargeisa town.

Mr. Yamamoto also held talks with Somaliland President Mouse Bihi Abdi at state house in Hargeisa.

The President of self-declared republic of Somaliland says he had a fruitful discussion with Amb. Donald Y. Yamamoto from US.

He says they had discussed on ways to strengthen Somaliland-US ties, elections, investment strategies of US to Somaliland, security, political dynamics in the Horn of Africa and the democratization process in Somaliland.
