UK envoy submits his credentials to Somali President

MOGADISHU, Somalia –The newly appointed United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Somalia Ben Fender has presented his credentials to President of Somalia, President Mohammed Abdullahi Mohamed.

Ben Fender arrived in Mogadishu, taking over from his predecessor Ambassador David Concar, who completed his task.

Somali President Mohamed has thanked the UK for its continuing leadership on Somalia and hoped to build on the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

“I want to extend my strong appreciation to the UK for their role in the support towards Somalia and I hope to strengthen relationship between our two nations”, he said.

The United Kingdom has been instrumental in helping to bring peace and security back to Somalia, and remains committed to helping the Somali people and rebuilding the government of Somalia.
