Two killed in bomb attack on police station in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least two police soldiers have been killed and two others injured in bomb attack on police station in Bosaso town in north of Somalia.

The explosion went off when gunmen hurled grenade bombs into Biyo Kulule police station in the town, leaving 2 police soldiers dead, a policeman Mohamed Harun Mohamed said.

Mohamed says the victims were taken into hospital.

He added the attackers fled from the crime scene.

“We have started an operation to hunt down the attackers but we did make no arrests”, he said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bomb explosion.

But, such attacks are often carried out by the Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab and Islamic State in Somalia.

The attack comes after suicide bomb attacks killed 20 people and injured 40 others in heart of Somali capital Mogadishu.
