Two Al Shabaab executed by firing squad for Mogadishu attack

MOGADISHU – Somali authorities have executed two Al Shabaab militants by firing squad in Mogadishu for masterminding a December attack that killed at least 13 people in the capital, Mogadishu.

Somalia’s chairman of the military court Hassan Ali Nur says the two militants were killed after convicting for a December attack.

The execution comes a day after mayor of Mogadishu Abdirahman Osman was laid to rest on Sunday. He died last week after he was seriously injured in a suicide attack claimed by Al Shabaab.

Al Shabaab, an Al Qaeda linked group wants to topple the Western-backed government of Somalia.
