Turkish Airlines suspended all flights to Mogadishu on Wednesday following a terror threat warning from the U.S. Embassy in Somalia.
The airline said it will make no flights to or from Mogadishu until March 12, without providing further details.
The suspension comes after the U.S. embassy warned of possible terror attacks at multiple locations in Somalia, including Aden Adde Airport.
The embassy also canceled all personnel movements as a precautionary measure.
Possible targets by the Al-Shabaab group include Aden Adde Airport, hotels, and crowded areas in Mogadishu.
Travelers heading to Mogadishu face disruptions due to the flight suspensions and heightened security concerns.
Driven out of Mogadishu in 2011, Al-Shabaab continues to carry out deadly attacks.
For over a decade, the group has been battling to impose a hardline interpretation of Sharia law in Somalia.
