South West State authorities said an armed group is being mobilized in the capital Mogadishu to destabilize the region.

Speaking to journalists in Baidoa, the state’s Information Minister, Mohamed Ibrahim Bilal, warned of a rebel group threatening stability.

Bilal said the group aims to destabilize peace in South West State, urging public awareness and condemning any attempts to cause unrest.

He declared the administration will never accept efforts that harm citizens or advance personal interests under the guise of political activity.

“We won’t accept a Mogadishu-based group bringing chaos and disorder into our region,” said Minister Bilal during the press conference.

The Minister emphasized that South West’s president fully supports Somalia’s federal system and the ongoing shift to one-person, one-vote elections.

He affirmed the administration’s strength and unity, insisting its autonomy and leadership must be respected by all political and armed actors.

Bilal warned that any attempt to disrupt security will face firm legal and military responses from the South West government and forces.

Intelligence confirms the rebel group is being secretly organized in Mogadishu, with plans to infiltrate South West regions, Bilal revealed.

He called for heightened vigilance and cooperation from residents to help prevent any threats to the region’s peace and stability.

Finally, Minister Bilal urged the public to report suspicious activity and work closely with security agencies to maintain regional safety and order.
