MOGADISHU — Somalia’s president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has met Sudan’s intelligence chief Tuesday in Mogadishu for talks on regional security and cooperation.
Lt. Gen. Ahmed Mufaddal delivered a message from Sudan’s leader reaffirming support for closer political, security, and economic ties.
President Mohamud welcomed the message and pledged stronger collaboration on counterterrorism and development in the Horn of Africa.
Both nations’ intelligence chiefs discussed joint efforts against terrorism and improving information sharing between their agencies.
The visit follows increased diplomatic outreach between East African nations working to address shared security and regional stability challenges.
