
Saturday, December 30, 2017 (Mareeg) – Senator Abdi Hassan Awale Qeybdid, who held a news conference in his home, said his home had been raided by force trained by the United Arab Emirates.
“When the act took place, I was called by Somali security agency who confirm to me that my house was not raided by them but attacked by the force that has been trained by the United Arab Emirates in Mogadishu,” said Senator Abdiqadir.
The Somali govt has detained 40 members of the UAE-trained soldiers and two officers, more could be arrested for raiding the home of Senator Abdi Qaybdid, chairman of the Parliamentary Constitutional Review Commission. Abdiqidid added that he was absent after the incident at home, but the troops have mistreated his family and wounded his watch man.
The president of Somalia’s Federal Government said that the military forces who raided the senator’s residence will soon be brought to justice. The Somali chief of staff has intervened the situation and as subsequence 40 soldiers and 2 officers has been arrested
