Somalia’s Minister of Public Service resigned
MOGADISHU, Somalia– Somalia’s Minister of Public Service and Housing Abdifitah Ibrahim Gesey has on Sunday announced his resignation from his office.
Mr. Gesey resigned, cites arrest of Mukhtar Robow, former Al Shabaab founder, who was seeking to run Presidential election in South West state region in Somalia, according to sources.
He also accused the central government of interfering in South West presidential elections
Robow was detained by Somali police soldiers, along with Ethiopian troops serving under African Union peacekeeping force from Baidoa town, some 250km south west of the capital of Mogadishu.
The arrest of Robow came after he was accused of bringing weapons and Al Shabaab militants in the town of Baidoa, where he was seeking presidential election.
