Somalia’s central bank chief takes office

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The newly appointed chief of Somalia’s central bank Abdirahaman Mohamed Abdullahi has taken office after handing-over ceremony was held in the capital of Mogadishu.

The outgoing Govornor Bashir Isse who is respected for his long service has welcomed his successor and wished him a success.

Mr. Bashir says he believes the Central Bank of Somalia would continue to develop and prosper under the new leadership.

The new chief of the Bank Abdullahi appreciated and acknowledged the outgoing governor’s long career n services in Somalia.

Somalia cabinet approved appointment of Abdirahman Muhammad Abdullahi as new chief of the Banka earlier this month after he was appointed by Somali PM.

Somali government has been unable to improve its financial sector and was unable to pay the salaries of its soldiers, which could bring a backlash to the Somali government.
