Somalia:Puntland Releases Yemeni Fishermen

Mareeg.com-The Executive of Yemeni Embassy in Mogadishu, Fuaad Al-zurqa said Puntland yesterday released 63 Yemeni fishermen who the Puntland authorities caught a day ago.

Al-zurqa said he spoke to the authorities in Puntland whom he discussed with about the fishermen who
they said were illegally fishing in the waters of Puntland.
The Yemeni fishermen however returned to Yemen after they were released yesterday.

On the other hand, Al-zurqa said there was an agreement signed by the Governments of Somalia
and Yemen allowing fishermen from either of these countries to fish on the
border between the waters of the two neighborly countries.

It was last week, when
Puntland authorities released 51 other fishermen from Yemen who were captured on
the Somali side of the waters between Yemen and Puntland
