Mareeg.com – Officials in Somalia’s southern region of Gedo have warned the Kenyan Forces known as KDF to be replaced to Gedo province after their withdrawal from Kismayo. A spokesman for Somali military division in Gedo region Col. Mohamed Abdulahi Good said that they will not accept any Kenyan soldier to be transferred to Gedo region because the Kenyan Army engaged in war with Somali civilians in Kismayo so that they do not have any legacy to operate in the region as peacekeeping forces from the African Union.”Everyone already knew what these [Kenyans] did against the civilian population in Kismayo. They did every bad thing they could.” Col. Good said adding that the local population in Gedo region will demonstrate against the Kenyans if Somalia Federal Government and the African Union Mission [AMISOM] decide to move the Kenyan troops to Gedo.Kenyan Forces have started to vacate the port town of Kismayo and will be replaced by a joint AMISOM forces. The Kenyan Army were repeatedly alleged of involving civilian massacre in Kismayo in June 2013 after siding with anti-peace militias operating in Kismayo who have supported the Kenya’s hidden mission to create a buffer zone area in the Lower Jubba region of Somalia. The Government of Somalia last year condemned the behavior of the Kenyan Forces in Kismayo for restrictions on movement of government officials visiting the town in May last year. The call came days after Kenyan military spokesman admitted that his forces will pull out from Kismayo and will be replaced by a joint AMISOM forces from other nations.
