Somalia:Mayor of Mogadishu Launches the 9th National Developmental Plan
Mogadishu, 07 March, 2019— Mr. Abdirahman Omar Osman, Mayor of Mogadishu and governor of Banadir Regional Administration (Eng. Yarisow), has launched a consultative session for the 9th National Developmental plan held at the Local Government of Mogadishu`s headquarters in order for Banadir Regional administration to contribute its recommendations and advice to it.
The governor has said that Banadir Regional Administration considers a special priority for the National Developmental plan,since the residents of the city remained committed to the unity, togetherness and transformation of Somali people.
The mayor, as an administration, has pledged to play their role,so as to make this plan effective and the one that is built on the vision and preference of Somali people.
On the other hand, the governor has thanked the ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development for its commitment to making this plan compatible with the public opinion among different entities in the society, while such consultative meetings were already held in different parts of the country`s regions.
The main aspects of this National developmental plan that it tends to put the focus on include alleviating poverty, re-organizing economic infrastructure, upgrading governmental institutions, putting in place all-inclusive political system as well as bolstering the law, justice and security sectors.
