
Mugadishu, 12 June 2018 – Mayor of Mogadishu, who is also Banadir Region Governor, honorable Abdirahman Omar Osman (Eng. Yarisow) together with the Ministry of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia discussed on ways in which they could co-operate on extending health services in the City.
Banadir Region Governor has met with the Health Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Drs. Fowzia Abikar Nur, and other staff of her Ministry. After a long debate, the two have agreed to improve the quality of the services and the general health facilities to allow the citizens to receive high quality health services.
“We have discussed with the Ministry on how we can link health services together and develop the health sector in Banadir Region as well, since the City accommodates the greatest number of people compared to other regions of the country, therefore, we should put in place a reliable health system” The Mayor said.
Mr. Yarisow has described the meeting between Banadir Administration and the Ministry of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia as one that paves the way for providing the residents of the City with quality health services while the two have agreed to co-operate on implementing the move.
Health Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Drs Fowzia Abikar Nur, has thanked Banadir Region Administration for their co-operation with the Ministry and their continuous commitment to deliver better health services to the residents living in the City.
