Somalia and Turkey reached a new agreement to counter misinformation undermining cooperation and Turkey’s activities in Somalia.

The agreement followed talks in Ankara between ministers from both countries focused on strengthening bilateral ties across sectors and media.

Officials said the discussions emphasized media’s role in advancing strategic relations and highlighting successes of cooperation between Somalia and Turkey.

Both governments agreed to expand collaboration to combat misinformation, including increased exchanges of media expertise and modern communications skills.
