
MOGADISHU – At least 10 people have been killed and 5 others injured when government soldiers exchanged deadly gunfire in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
Tuesday’s clash flared up after Somali military forces clashed with police soldiers over land dispute demolition demolish in the city’s Wadajir area, a witness said.
He says women and children were among those killed and injured in the skirmish.
“It is heavy fighting lasted for hours, but most of the victims are civilians, who caught in stray bullets at their homes”, he said.
“I saw several bodies of soldiers while some of them were being taken by their colleagues”, he said.
The victims were immediately rushed into hospitals.
Somali security officials were unavailable to reach on the phone for comments on the latest clash in the capital Mogadishu.
