Somalia ready to manage it is airspace say minister
Somalia has been transformed into a crucial tool for managing airspace in Somalia and handed over the equipment to the Ministry of Transport, Air and Land for the Government of Somalia.
The Minister of State for Transport, the Air and Land Abdi Rahman Kulmiye Hirsi, “Abdirahman Dheere” said that his ministry has taken over full control of the airspace from the ECAO.
The minister said the ECAO will facilitate a two-and-a-half-year follow-up to Somalia’s airspace in Mogadishu.
“It is a great opportunity for the people of Somalia to take part in the reconciliation process,” he said.
He said that the only thing left is that Mogadishu has been handed over to Somalia’s airspace workers working in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Minister of Transport and Air Transport said in October this year the airline will be operated in Mogadishu.
