Somalia: New security measures is to be taken in Bosaso
Authorities of Puntland Administration in Somalia, said new steps towards the deteriorating instability of the port city Bosaso must be taken.
The governor of Bari region Yusuf Mohamed, pledged that anyone who is seen having weapon will be arrested and sent to the court, even if he/she is soldier.
“Nowadays people with guns can be seen in the city, from now on we won’t be patient with anyone with gun including soldiers” Mr, Mohamed, said angrily.
“People are wearing soldiers’ uniforms walking in the city without any mandate from me.” he added.
Mr, Mohamed stressed the prohibited actions were encouraging insecurity crises.
“I want to warn certainly senior officials’ guards, who violate the instructions, after today anyone who take no notice on these orders will be recognise as criminal.” Mr, Mohamed Concluded.
This comes after unknown gunmen killed two people and injured 2 Soldiers in Bosaso, two days earlier.
The assailants ambushed a checkpoint amid Soldiers were in operation.
No one has claimed the responsibility for the attack, but doubts are on the ISIS linked Islamists operating the region.
Soldiers had tightened security of the port city after a wave of killings, mostly targeted senior officials from the region occurred Bosaso
