Somalia: Motion against former Minister’s postponed
Mogadishu(Mareeg.com)– a proposed motion against the inclusion of former failed cabinet memebrs to be included into the new cabinet has been postponed.
the motion was scheduled to take place today but members of the federal parliament changed their mind when 12 MPs requested for postponement from the speaker.
after the request the speaker decided to ask parliamentarians about their decision and therefore conducted a voting system whereby those who opposed and proposed the “request” to raise up their hands.
113 members proposed while 99 opposed the request from the 12 lawmakers.
the final decision was decided by the majority who proposed the postponement and the speaker dismissed the MPs promising the motion will take place in the coming days but did not notify the exact date.
this comes days after the Somali public society and majority of the lawmakers refused the inclusion of former Ministers who lost a vote of no confidence.
