The explosion left four soldiers wounded, a witness said.

He says Yusuf Mohamed Wacays was unharmed as he was not in the car at the time of the bomb explosion.

Puntland police says the victims were taken into hospital in the town.

It says security forces launched an operation over the attack.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Wednesday’s bomb explosion.

But, such attacks are often carried out by armed group al-Shabaab and Islamic State militants who are active in the region.

The attack comes a week after US military killed Abdulhakim Dhuqub, ISIS deputy commander in drone strike carried out in Bari region.
