Somalia: Four soldiers injured by explosion near Mogadishu
MOGADISHU, Somalia – Roadside bomb explosion has targeted a military convoy carrying government soldiers near Somali capital Mogadishu.
The explosion has partially destroyed the military convoy while heading to Somali capital, leaving 4 soldiers injured, a tea-seller, Faisa Hussein said.
Hussein says the soldiers, who were on board had been targeted with roadside bomb explosion as they travelling trough Elasha area, some 15km west of Mogadishu.
“I can only confirm you that the bomb blast injured four solders. I have not seen any one who was killed in the bomb attack”, she said.
The victims were taken into hospitals in Mogadishu.
No group says it carried out the bomb explosion.
But, such attacks are often carried out by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group battling the weak-western backed government of Somalia.
The group carried out past similar suicide and gun attacks in Somali capital Mogadishu, leaving dozens dead.
