Somalia: Foreigners killed in Kismayo hotel attack – Minister
MOGADISHU – At least 26 people, including nine foreigners have been killed in deadly suicide attack on in the coastal town of Kismayo, some 500km south of the capital, Mogadishu.
The attack started on Friday with suicide explosion, then gunmen stormed into building where they killed 26 people, including nine foreigners, according to Jubaland’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Aw Hersi.
Hersi says 2 Americans, 1 British, 1 Canadian, 3 Kenyans and 3 Tanzanian citizens were among those killed in the As-Asey terrorist attack.
“Some of these victims are dual citizens”, he added.
Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab militants claimed to have carried out the attack in Kismayu hotel attack.
