Somali authorities seized a large narcotics shipment at Aden Adde Airport, officials said on Friday.
The Attorney General’s Office said 48 sacks containing 2,496 boxes of drugs and six packaging cartons were confiscated during the operation.
Officials said the drugs were intercepted before leaving the airport and called the seizure a major threat to public safety.
An investigation has begun to identify the smuggling network, with authorities promising full legal action against those found responsible.
The Attorney General urged public cooperation, stressing that dismantling drug networks is vital for Somalia’s security, health, and national stability.
