Somalia declares June 4 as first day of Eid Al Fitr

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Federal government of Somalia has declared Tuesday, June 4, as first day of Eid Al Fitr

Shawwal moon has been sighted in Bay and Lower Shabelle regions of southern Somalia.

Sheikh Ali Mohamud, an official at Somalia’s religious ministry declared Tuesday, June 4, as first day of Eid Al Fitr.

Sheikh Mohamud congratulated the Somali people and Muslims across the world on the auspicious occasion.

He also wished country’s top leaders for good health and wellbeing over Eid celebration.
