Somalia: Deadly explosion kills 2 people in Mogadishu
MOGADISHU – Two people have been killed and nine others injured on Wednesday in roadside bomb explosion in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
The explosion went off near Sanca junction in the capital, leaving two people dead, Mareeg Online journalist, Ahmed Wehliye said.
Ahmed says children had been among the victims of the explosion.
He added that deputy district Commissioner of Daynile Ahmed Nur had survived assassination attempt after bomb attack near the junction.
“I saw several people got injuries and they were screaming”, he said.
The victims were rushed to hospitals for medical treatment, according Amin Ambulance service.
The attack comes a day after deputy district Commissioner of Wadajir, Abukar Sheikh Ahmed survived a similar attempt on his life in Mogadishu.
No group has so far claimed the responsibility for Wednesday’s explosion in Somali capital Mogadishu.
