Somalia: Deadly explosion hits café in Baidoa
MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least three people have been injured in bomb attack on coffee shop in Baidoa town, some 250km southwest of Somali capital Mogadishu.
The explosion targeted a tea-shop popular with government soldiers in the town, leaving 3 civilians wounded, Hanad Hussein, a witness said.
Hussein says two little shoe-polishers were among the victims.
The victims were taken into hospital.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Sunday’s bomb explosion in Baidoa town.
Somali police started an investigation over the attack.
No arrests have been reported over the operation.
Such attacks are often carried out by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.
The group, which once controlled much of the capital of Mogadishu, wants to topple weak-western backed government of Somalia.
