Somalia: Deadly clash erupts after attack on police station
MOGADISHU, Somalia – a fierce clash broke out between police forces and gunmen in Baladweyne town, some 335 km north of the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
The skirmish flared up on Wednesday when unknown assailants launched an attack on a police station in the town, leaving a person wounded.
A police boss Ali Dhuh Abdi in the town says police soldiers repulsed the attack.
It remains unclear the motive behind for the raid.
He says police started an investigation over the attack.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Wednesday orchestrated attack.
