Somalia cuts ties with Guinea over Somaliland relations
MOGADISHU – Somalia has announced to have cut off ties with Guinea’s government on Thursday after a cabinet meeting in the capital, Mogadishu.
The announcement was made by country’s foreign minister Ahmed Isse Awad while speaking to the journalists in Mogadishu.
Amb. Awad accused Guinea of violating sovereignty and unity of Somalia after rolling out a red-carpet welcome to President of Somaliland Mouse Bihi on his arrival in Conakry.
There was no immediate comment from Guinea over the allegations.
Mr. Bihi arrived at Gbessia International Airport in Conakry, Guinea on Tuesday after an invitation.
His delegation was warmly welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guinea, Mamadi Toure.
