Somalia’s aviation authority announced a one-day closure of Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu on Thursday, Dec. 25, citing security and logistical preparations for local elections.
In a notice issued by the Somali Civil Aviation Authority, officials said there will be no aircraft movements at the airport during the closure. The advisory was directed to the public, airlines and travel agencies.
Authorities urged travelers and airline operators to plan accordingly and avoid scheduling flights during the shutdown. The aviation authority said normal operations will resume once election-related restrictions are lifted.
Passengers were also advised to follow official updates for any additional guidance.
