Somalia: Civilian man shot dead in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Unknown gunmen have shot and killed unarmed civilian man in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, police and witness said.

A witness, Faisa Mohamed, says a young man was gunned down  by two men armed with pistols near Shuhada mosque in the capital.

The killers fled from crime scene.

Mohamed says the victim had died on the spot before being taken into hospital .

Somali security forces launched operation relating to the assassination, according to police officer.

It is the 10th assassination carried out in the capital since the start of holy month of Ramadan.

The motive and identity of the murder remain unclear.

No group says it carried out the killing.

The Islamic State and the Levant of Iraq also known as ISIS  and Al Shabaab group have been carrying out similar assassinations in Somali capital Mogadishu for the past days.
