Somalia participated in an emergency Arab League meeting in Cairo, focused on the worsening humanitarian crisis caused by Israel’s blockade on Gaza.
Ambassador Ali Abdi Aware represented Somalia, reaffirming the country’s support for Palestine and condemning Israeli attacks targeting civilians and humanitarian aid centers in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting condemned Israel’s proposed “humanitarian city” in southern Gaza, calling it a racially motivated detention zone under the pretense of humanitarian assistance.
Somalia stressed its firm position supporting Palestinian rights and called for urgent international action to end the siege and protect innocent civilians in Gaza.
