MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least three civilian people have been left wounded in a roadside bomb explosion in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
The explosion was intended to target government officials in Daynile leaving three people wounded, a witness said.
He says the victims were taken into hospital for medical treatment.There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion.
But, such attacks are often carried out by Al Shabaab. Al Shabaab, an al Qaeda linked group which wants to overthrow the weak-western backed government of Somalia.
The militant group has been waging insurgency for more than ten years in Somalia. The militant group was driven out of Mogadishu capital in 2011, and have since lost many strongholds to Somali army and African Union troops
The al Qaeda linked group still holds large rural villages of the country and continue to wage a guerilla war against the Western-backed government of Somalia.
