MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least three people, including – two soldiers were killed in an Al Shabaab attack on army base near Balcad town.

The attack triggered fierce fighting after the militants attacked on Somali military base, leaving 3 dead, a witness said.

Somali military says its forces repulsed the militants’ raid.

It has declined to comment on the casualty.

Al Shabaab was pushed out of Mogadishu capital in 2011 by Somali army troops and 22,000-strong African Union force.
