The pro-government Ahlu Sunna wal Jamaa (ASWJ) militia will integrate into the Somali National Army, a senior officer say.
Sheikh Ishak Hussein Mursal, chairperson of ASWJ Southern regions administration said that they hope to unite with the government soon after the elections.
“We welcome the elected president Mohamed Famajo, we’re ready to work with his administration.” He added.
“We know well Mr, Farmajo, and as I think reforming troops is one of his top priorities, so we ready to join National Army” said Mr Mursal.
There have been unsuccessful several agreements reached ASWJ and the Somali government which among integrating forces, if this move will be implemented is unclear.
