Somalia: Aid worker shot dead near Bardere town

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Unknown gunmen believed to be al Shabaab militants have shot and killed a local aid worker near Bardere town, some 343km south west of Somali capital, Mogadishu.

The victim, whose name identified as Adam Kamas was working for a local NGO, a reliable source, who asked to be anonymous said.

He says Kamas was gunned down by men armed with pistols attacked in a village of Bulo Addey near the town.

He added the local authorities arrested two suspected men, who allegedly abducted two other civilians.

The civilians were released after an operation, but the suspects were taken into police station for further interrogation.

No group says it carried out the assassination.
