Somalia: A man was killed in assassination attack in Mogadishu




Unknown gunmen sprayed a hail of bullets in a car the victim was riding in the Hodon district of Mogadishu.

Witnesses said that unknown assailants drove next to the car the late were riding and opened fire.

The victim died instantly in the car after several bullets were lodged in, reports say.

Still it’s unclear the identity of the victim, but reports suggest that he has been campaigner for the newly elected president of Somalia, Mareeg.com didn’t confirm.

Security forces reached the scene of the crime and are conducting investigations, but they have not made any announcement or arrested anyone.

No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, but the al-Shabaab militia have recently threatened to increase their attacks on new government officials.

This comes after few minutes another assassination killed at least one and wounded more among Ex-intelligence deputy chief.
