Somalia: 3 killed in bomb attack on civilian bus near Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least three people have been killed on Sunday in a roadside bomb attack on civilian minivan near Somali capital Mogadishu.

The explosion ripped through the minivan with civilian passengers near Afgoye town, some 30km south of Mogadishu, a witness said.

,The van was heading to Mogadishu.

He says the bus ran over the landmine explosion, leaving 3 people dead.

It remains unclear the exact target of the explosion.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Sunday’s explosion.

But, bomb attacks and other assassinations are often carried out by al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.

The group has been waging insurgency for more than ten years in Somalia.
