MOGADISHU – At least 3 children have been confirmed killed in an air strike allegedly carried out by Kenyan warplanes in south of Somalia.

The strike hit hospital in Sakow town, some 550km southwest of Somali capital Mogadishu, local media reported.

The death of the children has been confirmed by local witnesses who contacted local radios in Mogadishu.

The Kenyan air strikes often target Al Shabab insurgents in Jubba and Gedo regions in response to the border cross attacks in Kenya.

The KDF bombing campaigns in Jubba and Gedo region have come under criticism for the civilian casualties.

Last year, UN report accused Kenya to have been responsible for the killing of dozens of children in Gedo region, while targeting Al Shabaab.
