Somali, Turkish presidents meet in Istanbul

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Turkish President Recep Deyep Erdogan  has held talks with his Somali counterpart, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed at Vahdettin House in Istanbul.

Mohamed received warm welcome from President Erdogan, after returning from Italy’s capital, Roma, where he paid a 3-day visit and concluded earlier on Friday.

“It is my pleasure to meet with Turkish President Erdogan in Istanbul”, he said.

The two leaders’ talks took place at Vahdettin House in Istanbul, discussing on how to further strengthen their bilateral relations.

“We discussed to strengthen our strong relations through increased win-win cooperation”, he said in a Twitter post.

President Farmajo says Turkey is a valuable partner in Somalia’s development and progress.

Somali President and his delegation are set to jet off back to the capital of Mogadishu.
