Somali spy chief for Qoryoley shot dead in Mogadishu
MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali intelligence chief for Qoryoley town was shot and killed by suspected al Shabaab gunmen in the capital, Mogadishu.
The deceased, whose name has been identified as Dhayow Osman Aden gunned down by men armed with pistols in Taleh neighborhood of Hodan district, a witness said.
He says the killers fled from the crime scene.
Aden was a former Islamic Courts official in 2006.
Somali police arrived at the area and started an investigation over the assassination.
No group says it carried out the killing, but such assassinations are often carried out by an al Qaeda linked group al Shabaab.
