MOGADISHU – Somalia’s South West State security agencies have seized
vehicle laden with explosives in Baidoa town, some 250km south west of
Somali capital Mogadishu.
The security forces reportedly recovered three hand grenades hidden
inside the sack with grains after a search operation.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested in the event but maintained he
has nothing to do with the weapons.
Southwest security minister has thanked the regional security
departments for the job well done.
Hassan Hussein Elay called upon members of the public to closely
cooperate with security agencies to improve security.
“I urge members of the public to cooperate with security agencies,” he said.
“We will reward the officers that nabbed the vehicle with explosives,” he added.
