Somalia:President visits victims of Mogadishu attack

MOGADISHU, Somalia – President of Federal Republic of Somalia has paid a visit to victims of suicide and gun attack on Maka Al-Mukarama hotel in Somali capital Mogadishu.

President Mohamed Abdullaahi Mohamed shook hands with some citizens wounded in Maka Al-Mukarama attack, after visiting Madina hospital in Mogadishu.

Mohamed thanked the medics at the main hospital for their efforts to save the lives of Somalis.

Somalia pledged to airlift citizens affected by the Friday attack that may need further medical attention abroad.

Somali medical officials said more than 150 people were affected by the recent attack claimed by the armed group al-Shabaab.

The attack killed 30 people, with dozens injured, some seriously, according Amin Ambulance service.
