Somali president attends President Cyril Ramaphosa inauguration ceremony

Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi has joined over 30,000 South Africans and 22 Heads of State and Government from across the continent for the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the capital city, Pretoria.
The ceremony is being held today, Saturday, 25 May 2019 in pretoria
It has attracted thousands of Africans and various Heads of State and Government including Eswatini, Congo Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Uganda, Madagascar, Seychelles, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Angola, Mozambique, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Namibia, Somalia, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Egypt, as well as the African Union Chairperson and Chair of the Southern African Development Community.

Ramaphosa became the fifth and current President of South Africa following the resignation of Jacob Zuma. Before coming into office, the anti-apartheid activist, trade union leader and businessman, Ramaphosa served as the Deputy President of South Africa from 2014 to 2018.

It is expected that after Ramaphosa has taken the oath of office as part of the swearing in ceremony performed by Chief Justice Mogoeng Thomas Reetsang Mogoeng, Ramaphosa will take up a position for the national salute, according to media report.

Thereafter, he will address the nation, which will be followed by fly past of the South African Air Force and South African Airways (SAA), as well as a 21-gun.
