MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has appointed national commission for reconciliation and dialogue with Somaliland, a self-declared state, internationally considered to be an autonomous region of Somalia.

In a statement released by president’s office said the commission is chaired by ex-foreign Minister Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail.

The Somalia-Somaliland talks have been in stalemate for many years since the last round of talks held in Turkey in 2015 that ended without result due to tough conditions.
