Somali premier sharma’arke to visit Garowe and Adado towns
The outgoing prime minister of Somalia is set to pay a milestone visit to Garowe and Adado towns, the capital cities of Puntland and Galmudug states on mission to defuse Galkayo conflict, reports said.
The premier Omar Abdirashid Sharmarake will lead a high-level delegation from his caretaker government will launch a mediation bid between the two nighbouring semi-autonomous states whose forces are battling in Galkayo town.
Several ministers and federal lawmakers who are hailing from Puntland and Galmudug regions are reportedly accompanying the Somali prime minster on his visit to Garowe and Adado towns.
Galkayo – a town in central Somalia that is divided into two parts with its southern part is administered by Galmaudug, while the north is under the control of Puntland state.
Forces from both regional administrations are battling for the fourth day in the city. Scores of people, including soldiers died in the latest clashes, while hundreds of residents fled the houses to nearby environs
