Members of parliament gave a major boost to the newly appointed Prime Minister Honorable Abdiwali Sheikh Ahmed who was appointed recently by his Excellency, the president of Somalia Prof. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. The parliament session was attended by 243 members of parliament whereby 239 gave the confidence vote to the prime minister 2 others opposed him and the remaining 2 did not oppose nor propose but chose to remain silent. The prime minister gave a short and promising speech touching on his new plans, prioritizing the fight against Alshabab as his first and foremost mission in Somalia. Other significant promises made by Mr. Abdiwali during his speech include restoration of the judiciary system by fighting corruption and injustices against civilians and removal of illegal road blocks in the entire regions in Somalia which he termed as a major problem to be tackled. Finally, president Mohamud who also gave a short speech after the prime minister’s speech requested him (Abdiwali) to appoint a new cabinet who can perform and accomplish major developments in Somalia.
