Somali premier Calls for a Somali Peace Conference The Somali PM, Abdiwali Sheikh Ahmed said he recently attended the African Union Summit at Malabo in Equatorial Guinea where the agenda was ‘the Africa We Want’.


He said now as Somalis, the Somalis can hold a conference with the agenda ‘the Somalia We Want’. ‘I would like to take this opportunity to announce a peace conference which all the different communities in Somalia will be invited. We want Somalia where every citizen will live in peace’. He was speaking at the 1st July Independence Day Ceremony. On this day, 1960 the southern part of Somalia has gotten it independence.


The ceremony took place at capital Mogadishu .Both president and the speaker of the Somali parliament  attended
